One of three Matterhorn models done before the 1959 opening on the backstage of Disneyland. The three models were done at approximately 1/30th scale, with one for on site, one for the water and landscaping crew, and one for the engineers. In Todd's essay on the Rarest Parade of Them All, a photo of the Matterhorn float featuring bobsledders in the front, and one of the three Matterhorn models in the back (and thus the reason for this complimentary material photo). You can see another photo of one of these models from the DHI 2011 Walt's Birthday celebration.
